“Each sapphire has a unique touch and comes straight from the dirt. Every time that we find a sapphire we get so exited that we found one.”

-Max (10 years old)

How it all began......

How it all began......

It all began when my folks gave us a bag of gravel for Christmas. I knew what it was as soon as I saw it. My son, Max, wasn’t so sure. Armed with tweezers and tiny plastic containers, we started washing, flipping, and picking. As soon as he saw his first glimmering sapphire poking out from the gravel, he was hooked! At 9 years old, he relentlessly dug through that gravel with the tenacity of a certified gemologist until he had no gravel left. He found some beauties. Then he went for my gravel. 2 days later…Max had the prize gemstone. At a rough weight of 2.2ct, his steely blue/green was the biggest and best we had found to date. He was proud and I couldn’t wait to have it cut and get it on my hand:) Samantha Rosenburg cut it and built this incredible ring. Finished weight is .8ct.

Max’s 2.2ct rough, .8ct finished weight steely blue/green Sapphire. Color-changing to purple and pink with yellow and orange fire at every angle. This is the magic of Rock Creek, Montana!
